Two-Part Smoke Firing Workshop

Join me for a two-part smoke firing workshop where you’ll create your own beautifully finished decorative ceramic pieces from start to finish.

In the first session, you’ll learn handbuilding techniques including coiling, pinching, carving, and surface refinement. You’ll also be introduced to burnishing, a process that gives your work a soft sheen and prepares it for the firing. Your pieces will then be left to dry and bisque fired, ready for the second session.

In the second session, you’ll take part in an exciting outdoor smoke firing, where natural materials and controlled combustion create rich, unpredictable surface patterns and markings unique to each piece.

Part 1 – Making Session
Sunday 7th June, 12.30–4pm

Part 2 – Smoke Firing
Sunday 28th June, 11.30pm–2pm

Tea and coffee will be provided and a veggie lunch will be provided on the second session so we can eat together while we watch the smoke firing!
